So we often get asked about reclaimed wood. We have written before about this but have some pictures of what is pretty typical of reclaimed. In a previous blog we talked about bugs, but here is a production issue. Many barns have things hanging in them over the years – rakes, tools, etc. And these are hung on nails or hooks which ultimately can break off, rust etc., and are hard to find in the reclaimed wood. If we hit one as we are cutting wood, not only is it dangerous but also costly on blades and equipment.
Have a look at some of our door images. We used a weathered bandsaw type edge that looks as good as reclaimed without the expense.
